In its commitment to evangelize through Sacred Music, and to promote the conservation of the San Sebastian Basilica, the Festival aspires to share the soul and spirit of religious music as a kind of prayer, as an essential piece in a Christian’s life, and as a valuable way to spread the joy of the Gospel in our church and community.

The Festival opens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 29 May, with a performance showcasing various choirs from Manila and Cavite. The 30th of May highlights the participation of no less than the highly-esteemed Pastor of the Archdiocese of Manila, Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, D.D. The last day, Sunday, which is also in celebration of the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth, will feature guest choirs singing in the Masses from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The said Feast is the very reason this Festival is held around that time in May. Much inspired by Mary’s piety, devotion, and faith, the Festival takes inspiration from her who sang the Magnificat when she visited her cousin Elizabeth.

The Musica Sacra Festival aims to continue to preserve, protect and promote the wonderful treasure that is the San Sebastian Basilica through the gift of faith, arts and sacred music.

The Musica Sacra Festival concerts are open to the public. ADMISSION is FREE.
