The San Sebastian Recollect Dance Troupe (SSRDT), through the Center for Culture and the Arts, is conducting a 5-day dance workshop at the Bulwagang Diego Cera of San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila from the 18th to the 22nd of May. Entitled Reco+3 Summer Dance Workshop, the workshop serves as a venue for the SSRDT to share their knowledge on various dance forms and techniques. It also serves as means to promote the organization as well as a medium for people to meet.
The wokshop is attended by students from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, La Consolacion College – Manila, University of Manila, Lyceum of the Philippines-Manila, SSC-R Manila, Technological Institute of the Philippines,Timoteo Paez Integrated School, St. Paul University-Manila, Manila Cathedral School, Far Eastern University, National University, University of the East, STI, Rodriguez Institute of Science and technology (EARIST), ACCESS, De La Salle Araneta University, De la Salle College of St. Benilde, and the Philippine State College of Aeronautics.
The workshop features different teachers showcasing different styles of dance every day. Teachers include alumni and resident members of SSRDT, namely, Megs David (G style); SSRDT Managing Director Sam Navarro (Dance Hall); Jonnaus Bautista (Urban Lyrical); Jake Medello (Krump); and Vens Gabayeron and Jhad Arcilla (Urban Hip Hop).
As one of the repertory arms under the Center for Culture and the Arts, SSRDT continues to uphold the integrity of dance in San Sebastian and hopes to reach more individuals willing to learn and improve their Art.
