Accounting Department

Description

The Accounting Department is one of the pillars of the institution with broad range of roles to carry out within and outside the campus. Its major responsibilities include recording and reporting, managing the financial and various resources of the institution and overseeing the efficient and effective functioning of the department for the benefit of the institution and its stakeholders.
The Office is also in charge of the preparation of financial statements subjected to external audit, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, and meeting compliance and reportorial obligations of the institution.
The Accounting Department also supervises the accounting and financial operations in Canlubang and Surigao campuses.

Policies and Guidelines

The Office implements various policies and guidelines for students particularly on discounts and scholarships, and their financial obligations as stipulated in the handbook or manual. Moreover, it guides them into becoming responsive and responsible students of SSC-R Manila.
Not only to students that the Accounting Department remain steadfast in serving, but also to all the staff and personnel. Various platforms are opened to all the employees to aid them and their families’ welfare.
On the other hand, the Accounting Department continuously upgrades system of policies, internal controls and accounting standards and procedures to safeguard the objectives of the institution.

Tuition and other fees

The tuition and other fees vary in every academic level. The Office formulates a Schedule of Fees per department every school year.

Payment Channels

All payments of student fees and outside parties are collected by the Accounting Office. Both on-campus and online payment collections were made available to be able to serve the needs of the students during this pandemic.

Office hours/days

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday, 8:00am to 12:00nn (during regular days, before pandemic) However, national holidays and city declaration of non-working days are also observed.

Organizational Structure

The Accounting Department is headed by the Vice President for Finance who is a religious priest. Next in line is the Comptroller who supervises the day-to-day operation of the Office, including the Bookstore operation. The Office has a total headcount of eight office personnel assigned to their respective areas of responsibility that includes Treasury, General Accounting, Budgeting, Disbursement, Student Accounts, Cashiering and Payroll.

Others

The Accounting Department, being one of the frontline service providers, was challenged especially in responding to students’ concerns and queries in an online setup, and catering to the needs of the institution despite the current situation.
