San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila partners with Fuyang Normal University

Delegates from Fuyang Normal University (FYNU), led by Vice President Mr. Qingzu Zhang, visited SSC-R Manila on Friday, November 15, 2024, to initiate their partnership with San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila (SSC-R). Dr. Catherine Q. Castañeda, Vice President for Academics and Research, and Mr. Narciso D. Valeriano Jr., MCM, Director for Strategic Communications and Marketing, hosted them. 

Key highlights of the visit included the ceremonial signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, a program presentation, and an open forum with representatives from both SSC-R and FYNU. The delegates also toured the College of Law and the soon-to-open SSC-R BS Nursing facilities.

During the meeting, areas for collaboration were discussed, including exchanging faculty and students, joint research projects and cultural programs, academic conferences, internship and practice programs, language training, and degree promotions for teachers and students.

Also present were Mr. Shibing Wang, Dean of Academic Affairs at FYNU; Xuejun Wu, Dean of Academic Affairs at FYNU; Mr. Chang Wu, Secretary of the School of Computer Science and Information Engineering at FYNU; Mr. Dongfeng Song, Secretary of the School of Business at FYNU; and Mr. Fumeng Gao, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at FYNU. From SSC-R, Dr. Darren Datiles, Dean of the College of Accountancy, Business, Hospitality, and Tourism Management; Ms. Regina Batalla, Program Chairperson of Communication; Ms. Cherri Gatchalian, Executive Assistant to VPAR and Program Chairperson of General Education Programs; and Mr. Aaron Li, Director for International Affairs in China, represented the school.

As SSC-R expands its global footprint, it is expected to pursue internationalization efforts to promote faculty and student mobility, enhance its research program, and strengthen international cooperation with regional higher education institution (HEI) partners.
