Admin, UKG grace orientation, 1st day

Rev. Fr. Nemesio D. Tolentin, OAR began his new role as the President of San Sebastian College – Recoletos Manila by leading the entire Sebastinian community in welcoming the new students to the institution. The Diego Cera Hall was filled with excited new students and their parents who attended the College Orientation last June 13. The program started with Rev. Fr. Gaudencio L. De Mesa, Jr., OAR, the new Dean of Religious Education Department leading a prayer, followed by the National Anthem led by Ms. Louise Daphne L. Valeras and Mr. Jay Merwinson Madrid. Ms. Aisa P. Arlos, M.A.Ed and Mr. Giovanni Carlo L. Atendido, M.S. served as Masters of Ceremony.

Rev. Fr. Emeterio D. Buñao, OAR, the new Vice President for Administration and Human Resources Development Center (HRDC) Director delivered the opening remarks. Fr. Tolentin then presented the School’s Mission and Vision. Dr. Winston S. Sirug, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences then gave a presentation regarding Academic Policies, followed by Atty. Ernesto C. Salao, Director for Student Affairs, who reviewed and discussed the other School Policies and Student Services. After said presentations, the San Sebastian Recollect Dance Troupe delivered a performance that served as intermezzi. The dance performance was followed by the introduction of Religious Administrators, Lay Administrators, Student Services, Deans, Area Chairs and Faculty Members.

An Open Forum ensued allowing the students and parents to raise their concerns. For the closing remarks, Fr. Tolentin shared his insights and gave thanks to everyone who attended the activity. Assisted by members of Supreme Student Government the the incoming students had a Campus Tour immediately after the orientation.

Two days later, June 15, ABS-CBN’s morning show Umagang kay Ganda, with field host Robie Domingo, featured the institution as it began the current school year. The San Sebastian Recollect Dance Troupe and the San Sebastian Jammerstags performed during this television feature. This opened an opportunity for Ms. Arlos, the newly-appointed Senior High School Coordinator, to talk about the beginning of SSC-R Manila’s Senior High School Program. Fr. Tolentin was also interviewed as the new School President.
