FAAP GRANTS INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION TO SSC-R MANILA

The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) awarded an INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION to San Sebastian College- Recoletos Manila, affirming the SSC-R’s high-level quality in all aspects of its operation.

The distinction was granted based on SSC-R Manila’s accomplishments and compliance to the five (5) major criteria set by FAAP such as:
1. the levels of accreditation with at least level II status;
2. more than 75% of the program offerings should be accredited;
3. majority of the total population should be enrolled in the accredited programs;
4. the performance of its graduates in the licensure examination should be on par with or above the national passing rate;
5. the Higher Education Institution should have a well internal quality assurance mechanisms that include strong research and linkages, instruction process, and community service programs.

The institution is already a Level III accredited for its Arts, Sciences and Business Administration Programs; Level II for Computer Studies, Information Technology, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, and Accountancy programs; and Candidate status for MBA and Ph.D. programs. The Grade School and Junior High School departments of the institution likewise hold a Level III status respectively.

SSC-R Manila, as one among the seven (7) Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) owned and administered by the Order of the Augustinian Recollects (OAR), is the first Recollect School in the Philippines with Institutional Accreditation granted by FAAP.

“The entire institution is deeply honored to be awarded with this prestigious status by FAAP through PAASCU, which according to the criteria, is only given to schools with excellent academic programs and services. With the continued help of our supportive administrators, dedicated and cooperative academic and non-academic personnel, parents, students, alumni, and other stakeholders, we would continue to uphold the respect and recognition we garnered as an institutionally accredited school.” Fr. Tolentin, the School President said.
