SSC-R Manila’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting 2024 – A spectacle of music, lights, and joyful celebration

San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila (SSC-R) welcomed the Christmas season on December 6, 2024, with a ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree in the school quadrangle. This year’s theme was “A Season of Light, Hope, and Giving.” The event showcased enchanting musical and dance performances by talented students and lay collaborators, beautifully capturing the spirit of the season.

The Twinkle Marchers opened the event, accompanied by the drum, lyre, and majorettes from the specialized Physical Education classes of the Integrated Basic Education Department. This was followed by an engaging dance performance featuring the non-teaching personnel and academic staff. Additionally, college faculty members and lay administrators delivered an exciting presentation. The students from the Basic Education Department also made their debut with a rondalla performance, serenading the community with some of the most cherished Christmas music.
Fr. Rafael B. Pecson, OAR, the President of SSC-R, addressed the community and emphasized the significance of the Advent season. This was followed by the eagerly awaited lighting of the Christmas tree and a concluding performance by Chorale de Sebastino. The evening wrapped up with a spectacular fireworks display that illuminated the sky.
