San Sebastian College-Recoletos Manila opened academic year 2024-2025 with a rousing welcome program for its students. As Sebastinians begin their journey of becoming one with the community, this year’s Tagaste was held on August 14 to 16, 2024. The celebration kicked-off with the Mass of the Holy Spirit that highlighted the communities unwavering devotion and faith to God. Old and new Sebastinians converged to ask for newfound wisdom and strength as they journey together amidst the challenging times. It was then followed by the opening program that aimed to uplift the moral and ensure the students get the most out of their academic and campus life through the support of their formators, religious administrators and lay collaborators.
On day 1, the school presented the Religious and Lay administrators headed by the School President, Fr. Rafael B. Pecson, OAR. On day 2, support services departments conducted a two-day orientation to get the students acquainted on their departmental functions and services that the school offer to its students. Various fringe activities, team building events, club recruitments and Pistang Sebastino were also organized throughout the 3-day event to celebrate friendship and encourage camaraderie and community spirit that Baste is known for many years.
To cap it off, old and new Sebastianians came together as they formally began their journey with the highly anticipated "Bautismo Sebastino" where students were splashed by water signifying their conversion as members of the Sebastinian community.
