TAR UC ADMINISTRATORS VISIT SSC-R MANILA

Two Administrators from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia had a meeting with SSC-R Manila’s Administrators last November 05, 2019 at the President’s Office Conference Room. The meeting was conducted for the deliberation of areas of cooperation/collaboration as inputs for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two (2) institutions.

The SSC-R Manila representatives who attended the meeting were Rev. Fr. Nemesio D. Tolentin, OAR, School President; Dr. Rodrigo F. Ponce, Jr., Director of the Quality Assurance Office/ETEEAP Center; Dr. Lolita A. De Guzman, Dean of the College Department and Mr. Ignacio E. Katapang II, Program Chair of Accountancy Program. The two administrators from TAR UC were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wong Hwa Kiong, Dean, Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janice Toh, Branch Campus Head.

 

Last September 23-28, 2019, Dr. Rodrigo F. Ponce, Jr., and Mr. Ignacio E. Katapang II visited schools in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Sarawak, Malaysia to conduct benchmarking and to establish partnership. One of the schools they visited was the TAR UC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

With this, SSC-R Manila is looking forward for a partnership with TAR UC. The draft MOU was already finalized and for signing on January 2020 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The MOU is designed to foster a friendly relationship through mutual cooperation in academics and research. The cooperation between the two institutions shall be accomplished in accordance with the guidelines in various ways which may include the cooperation in education, research, and development; regular consultation on curriculum development specifically for Business Administration and Accountancy programs; exchange of written and published academic materials, educational information; invitation to take part in academic meetings organized by our respective institutions; exchange of faculty, students, and researchers for the purpose of teaching, study, and academic research; cooperation in organizing and attending academic conferences, trainings, seminars, workshops, etc. on issues of mutual concern; conduct of special short-term academic programs and projects; administration of Internally-assessed ACCA Examination to SSC-R Manila students; organizing industrial exposure and immersion programs in Malaysia and Philippines; and other cooperation as mutually agreed.

After the meeting, Rev. Fr. Nemesio D. Tolentin, OAR thanked the visitors from TAR UC, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A Campus tour was facilitated for the guests at the School’s main facilities and at the San Sebastian Basilica.
