On March 29, 2022, second day of the 81st Foundation Day Celebration, at least 30 volunteers from San Sebastinian College-Recoletos Manila (SSC-R) visited the Livelihood Education and Rehabilitation Center (LERC), in Brgy. Malaria, North Caloocan City. There were approximately a hundred books and learning materials that have been donated the community aimed at sparking new hope and to encourage learning for the LERC beneficiaries. Goods like biscuits and a sack of rice from the good parents in SSC-R Senior High School were also handed over to the center.
Mr. Ulysses Francisco, the SSG’s Commissioner on Academics, student leaders and the Outreach Advisers from various departments, including Ms. Veronica Cosme (Grade School Department), Ms. Mayla Atienza (Junior High School Department), Ms. Nilda Chuawee (Senior High School Department), Dr. Lysander Rodan Dela Cruz (CABACS), Dr. Cristina Caluza (CIHM), Ms. Gina Marie Cabuhal (CAS), Dr. Michelle Punzalan (NSTP), Atty. Alexander Gayos (SOLA), Mr. Jay Ramirez (RE ED.), Ms. Alexandra Cueva (IGS), Ms. Ana Lourdes Aseron (SDPC), and Ms. Wilma Luna (NTPA) participated in the preparation of this outreach event. The Security Office and Janitorial Services were among those who helped to organize the gifts for the partnered community.
Rev. Fr. Tony S. Limchaypo, OAR, SSC-R Manila’s VP for Religious Affairs and Sebastinian Community Development Extension Office (SCDEO) Director, blessed the community and was delighted to share the gifts of San Sebastian with them. Through the use of these books, their community library will have viable learning opportunities for their beneficiaries.
True to the theme of this year’s celebration, “Journeying Together, Stronger As One.” SSC-R will continue to extend its helping hands to the most challenged sectors on the communities as we tide through these challenging times together.
