On K to 12 Updates

DepEd Visit for Grades 11 & 12 Application

Last April 2, 2014, two (2) DepEd officials, namely: Dr. Ma. Teresa A. Namoro, OIC Chief-Secondary Education Division and Dr. Luz S. Almeda, Director for DepEd NCR conducted an on-site visit at SSC-R Manila campus to check the preparedness of the school for the opening of the Grades 11 and 12.

Last April 4, 2014, SSC-R Manila submitted to Dr. Ma. Teresa A. Namoro, OIC Chief-Secondary Education Division a compliance report of the deficiencies in the following areas: Career Pathways for TLE, Proposed Tuition Fee for the SHS program and K to 12 Student Development Program.

As of this time, OAPD will have conducted series of follow-ups to DepEd National and NCR for the release of the initial Permit to offer Grades 11 and 12.


Submission of Documents to DepEd for Grades 11 & 12 Application

Last August 27, 2013, the OAPD Director together with three staff (Registrar’s Liaison Officer, OAPD Staff and VP for Academic Affair’s staff) submitted the following documents to DepEd:

  • Application for the Opening of Senior High School Programs (Grades 11 and 12)
  • MOA with the different Local and International Linkages
  • Syllabi for Grades 11 and 12 programs
  • Proposed Curriculum for the New College Degree Programs (for AY 2016-2017)

Meeting with DepEd Officials

The Seven Administrators (VP for Academic Affairs, 3 College Deans, HS/GS Principals and Director of OAPD) had an audience with the officials from the Department of Education (DepEd) Head Office in Pasig City last July 5, 2013. Ms. Joyce Samaniego, Head of the Transition Management for K to 12 Program of DepEd, explained to the group the necessary requirements needed for the submission of application for the opening of Grades 11 and 12 in SSC-R Manila for AY 2014-2015.


Trainings and Seminars for K to 12

A series of trainings and seminars for faculty members (College, high school and grade school) were conducted in preparation for the opening of the senior high school program and as part of the transition management program of the school. The following seminars were handled by the HRDC and the K to 12 committee on faculty development program:
